Limited EU resources force LEATECH to suspend the Joint Master Programme in 2023
The LEATECH consortium of Higher Educational Institutions has decided to postpone the launch of the joint international master programme, as the EU Agency in charge of the Erasmus Mundus Programme informed the partnership last 25 July 2023 that the initiative, “despite its merits, can unfortunately not be funded, given the budgetary resources available for the call”.
University of Lleida, ITECH, EGE University, CIATEC and COTANCE regret that in spite of a positive evaluation, EU authorities have not prioritised this initiative that is highly demanded by the market and fully aligned with the objectives of the EU Textiles Strategy.
The LEATECH initiative attracted significant interest in the industry, as over 60 applications were received for the first intake of students for the joint international Master. The consortium has informed individually all the candidates of the options remaining open for them given the circumstances. As mentioned in the LEATECH web page, the EU financial support for the foreseen subsidised scholarships was a condition for the effective registration of applicants.
The LEATECH consortium will re-apply next February for EU funding.
