OVERVIEW

1.    How did you come to the leather industry?
My father was a tanner. First, he worked in a specialized factory, then he opened a craftsmanship workshop near his parental home, at Turia. You can say that I was born a tanner. So, leather processing interfered with household activities; all the time when I had free time I would be lending a helping hand to my father, in the small factory. After 1990 when I graduated from the faculty of car mechanic - my passion, I decided to involve myself in the tannery, taking over my father business step by step, developing it year after year.
2.    What is the job that you are performing in the leather industry?
As manager of my own business and because the business is small and is a family one, I was permanently bound to involve myself in the procurement of raw materials, technology, machines maintenance, sales.
3.    What qualifications or training did you do to be there?
While in school, I worked in my father’s tannery, qualifying myself at the work place. On the other hand, after taking specialized courses, I have acquired the tanner diploma.
4.    What do you most appreciate in your job
Victory. Managing the family business, where success is obligatory because you have to provide for your family to pay team salaries, to please customers, to solve any problem, mechanical or technological, to make the wisest decision in critical situations, to enjoy rest hobbies, after a tense work period - this is what the victory of my own business consists of, in a few words.

I was born a tanner!
