EU TCLF Skills Strategy: A Roadmap for the Future of European Craftsmanship and Innovation

1.2
COTANCE is proud to announce the launch of the EU TCLF Skills Strategy, a comprehensive roadmap developed with contributions from across the Textile, Clothing, Leather, and Footwear (TCLF) ecosystem.

This landmark strategy will guide 1.5 million workers and 220,000 companies across Europe through the next decade of green and digital transformation, ensuring that our industries remain competitive, innovative, and resilient in a rapidly changing world.

Developed under the AEQUALIS4TCLF ERASMUS+ Project, the EU TCLF Skills Strategy identifies key skill needs, supports workforce adaptability, and builds bridges between education, policy, and industry to future-proof Europe’s TCLF value chains.

The Strategy in Action

The EU TCLF Skills Strategy serves as a practical tool for all actors in the ecosystem:

Employees – gain clarity on emerging skills and plan for career growth.

Employers – identify talent gaps, attract skilled workers, and align with EU training and funding opportunities.

Educators & Policymakers – design and adapt education programs that match real industry needs.

By aligning education, training, and industry priorities, the Strategy aims to build a skilled, forward-looking workforce that drives European excellence in craftsmanship, sustainability, and innovation.

Together, we are shaping the next generation of Europe’s TCLF industries — where tradition meets transformation.
