COTANCE mourns the passing away of a dear colleague and friend

Mr Roeland Smets, General Director of the European Confederation of the Footwear Industry, passed away at the age of 69.
For over twenty years he was at the front of the European footwear industry, defending its interests, and he cooperated with COTANCE on a number of common issues.
COTANCE expresses its deepest condoleances to his wife and family, as wel as to all his colleagues working for the European footwear industry.

Roeland Smets was:
the President of the FEBIC, the Belgian Federation of Footwear Manufacturers,
the General Director of C.E.C, the European Confederation of the Footwear Industry,
the Secretary of CEDDEC, the European Confederation of the Shoe Retailers Associations,
the Secretary of CRC-CLO, the Belgian Research Center for the Tanning and Footwear Industries
the Founder and Organizer of the "WORLD FOOTWEAR CONGRESS"
